Alfa Romeo MiTo Spices Up Hatches

Alfa Romeo’s head turning compact premium hatch, the M is now available in NZ. The car is designed to take on the likes of the Mini Cooper and is available in one version only, the high specification 114 kW M Sport priced at $44,990 plus on road costs. The turbocharged 1.4 litre M Sport accelerates from 0-100 kmh in 8 seconds, and continues to a top speed of 215 kmh, offering fuel figures of 6.5 litres 100 km.
Alfa Romeo’s DNA system, activated by a three-position switch, alters the throttle response and steering set-up for different driving environments – Dynamic, Normal and All Weather Driver and occupant safety is addressed with the specification of seven airbags which work with Alfa’s Self Aligning Head Restraint. The Mito is lavishly equipped to help justify is heady price tag – it comes standard with a host of luxuries such as trip computer, and premium audio system.
